What this course covers
What happens after a concern is reported. This course covers classifying a concern as Minor, Moderate or Major and what follows from each; taking precautionary action without prejudging the outcome; and the point most organisations get wrong — knowing when a matter must go to statutory services and must not be investigated internally. It also covers monitoring plans, and the support owed afterwards to the person affected, the person who reported, and the wider team.
Who this course is for
Safeguarding leads and deputies, senior managers, and project coordinators who may lead a response on site or abroad.
By the end of this course
you will be able to
Classify a concern as Minor, Moderate or Major and explain what follows from each
Take proportionate precautionary action without prejudging an outcome
Identify when a matter must be referred to statutory services, and when an internal enquiry is appropriate
Build and maintain a monitoring plan
Put support in place after an incident, for everyone affected by it
Use what an incident revealed to change practice
